I over-shadowed the first soldier. This session is interesting, though, because you can see that I was playing with an unconventional backing at one point. BTW, for every ‘fine’ drawing I produce for each element there are usually two or three failed attempts at a usable picture and at least a dozen concept sketches or pages filled with half-completed concepts.

The Messenger arrives to tell everyone what happened to the fleet and how Troy fell. His narrative will be told as a series of flashbacks. The soldiers are described as standing around in the text.
