Farmers cull animals that are past their prime in order to ensure that the rest of their herds suffer as little as possible for scare water and grass at the end of the dry season. The farmers divide this free-range, organic meat between their family and the families that they employ on the farm, ensuring that farm workers have adequate access to fresh protein. I was allowed to shoot this old, one-horned cow, and I brought her down with a single shot to the lungs. Outjo, Namibia. <--Previous   Next-->
