This looks better in person (like #2), but everything has to go through an inspection under less than ideal conditions, anyways... So, in this case, the basic design is good, but it is undermined by the unresolved middle part of the main . In truth, what I should have done was left the middle, right behind the ... See Morecrest of the main body, empty and pulled down the detached top piece. Maybe that would have forced the eye too much, though. Still, the main problem is the center and the coloring. Also, the white backdrop just doesn't cut it. I thought it would give me a liquid, floating look but it just looks like a drawing i made on paper. <--Previous   Next-->

Third Painted Design on Plexiglass  -  I'm not sure if I should post this one. I actually like the design... I think it's one of my best. The problem is that it just doesn't stand out the right way against the white backdrop. If this was against black glass and painted with a spectrum of white to gold it would have been my best... unfortunately I set out specifically to work against white as an experiment. So far as the deisgn goes, though, I like the bottom part (which, if you flip it upside down, also works well) but think I made a mistake with how the design developed in the middle. Unfortunately this is a 'cut once and only once' medium.
