Arkansas Infrared: Ike's Winds and the Flooded Forest
I arrived in N. Arkansas as the remnant of Ike was blowing over. Though no longer a hurricane, it packed powerful winds. At dawn I set out towards the northern end of Lake Norfolk. The strong winds made it difficult to focus/photograph from a kayak. I gradually drifted into a corner of the forest preserve that was floaded because of the winds (a seiche?) and the unseasonably high waters. The winds ranged up and down as I made my way towards the opening of a creek.
